Careers guidance and coaching appointments for parents, carers and young people: 30 minute appointment

Does your child need careers support? Do you want to be involved in the interview process with your child?

Young people consistently tell us that their parent or carer is the most influential person in helping them make their career decisions. We also know that young people can be less than enthusiastic to have, or to start, these discussions at home. Parents tell us that they would like more careers information and advice to be able support their child with those important career decisions, and in starting careers conversations. We're here to help!

Have you ever asked yourself, What should my child do when they leave school or college? What options are available to them? What jobs and skills are currently in demand/decline? What opportunities are there in that <sector/industry/subject field>? Have you ever wished you’d been able to sit in on that careers appointment to listen to the advice given, or had the chance to ask your own questions about their future?

Our expert advisers provide personalised, confidential and impartial advice and guidance on all career options (understanding and choosing options, securing the best option for them, inspiring them with new ideas and opportunities), making applications (interview preparation, interview techniques and practice, support with all types of applications and assessments) and helping to plan their journey (preparing for transition to a new place of work or study, setting goals, creating an action plan).

Our service is available to parents and carers with their child, or individually with just you, or your child. There are no restrictions on how young or old your child is and our team of advisers support all client groups (regardless of age, background, location, additional needs or personal circumstances). We work with all local providers and specialist services to ensure we provide the best and most up-to-date support.

‘I first met (C+K adviser) when I was struggling to find my daughter alternative education after a bad start at college. (My daughter) has special educational needs, and communication and sensory difficulties. (C+K adviser) has been so supportive all the way through and is so friendly and funny it makes you feel at ease. I really feel we would have struggled without this support. Thank you so much’

‘I would like to thank (C+K adviser) for the support he has given (my son). He is now enrolled at college and feeling excited about his choices. It is almost a miracle when I think of how concerned I was for him only a few weeks ago. I feel strongly that this wouldn’t have been possible without the support of (C+K adviser), his professionalism and diligence help secure (son’s) future.’

‘I just wanted to thank you for all your help. You helped relieve a lot of stress and anxiety and helped us make choices. I hope you know your work is extremely appreciated and you continue to help many more students. Thank you so much!’
