Minimising NEET and Dropout

Schools are integral to their local communities and - with young people who are NEET more likely to stay in their immediate area - the importance of minimising NEET is important for schools, young people and society as a whole. C+K have been very successful in working with schools to implement NEET strategies that have increased the number of pupils moving into a positive destination.

Tailored support and guidance

By identifying at-risk individuals early and providing tailored support and guidance, our qualified and professionally trained careers advisers are able to understand issues, barriers and identify potential trends. Targeting support with this group of students leads to students making better decisions and increasing their chances of successful progression.

Skilled and experienced careers advisers

In addition, our skilled and experienced participation careers advisers can offer additional targeted support to students most at risk of becoming NEET. This support includes providing personalised careers information, help with writing CVs, apprenticeship and course applications and preparing for interviews.

Quite often, it is additional issues that make a young person at risk of becoming NEET. C+K works closely with specialist support agencies to provide holistic support for a range of issues including substance misuse, mental health, sexual health, family relationships and housing.
