Young people and adults need reliable information to help them make choices at different points in their life and career.
The Professional Services Team at C+K produces a range of resources designed to support these career, learning and life decisions.
C+K resources also support schools and colleges with meeting Gatsby Benchmarks.
The resources are available for schools and colleges that contract with C+K, and can also be purchased through our shop.

Leaflets and posters
Career Ideas
Career Ideas is a set of 20, full colour, single-sided sheets, that can be used as posters or leaflets. Available as a PDF, the set covers a wide range of vocational and academic subjects studied at key stage 4, with each subject linked to related careers. In addition, each poster/leaflet includes simple facts related to the jobs listed, such as skill requirements, working patterns and labour market information.
Career Ideas are particularly useful at Year 8 or Year 9 option choice time, but can be used by any age group. This set of posters/leaflets supports schools and colleges with meeting Gatsby Benchmarks 2 and 4.
Apprenticeships in...
Apprenticeships in... is a set of 20, full colour, double-sided A4 leaflets, available as a PDF. The set includes 5 leaflets providing general information about apprenticeships (eg how to find apprenticeship vacancies, how to apply for an apprenticeship), and 15 leaflets that are sector-specific, from agriculture and animal care through to transport and logistics. The sector-specific leaflets include information on skills and qualifications, up-to-date labour market information and more.

Job Facts
Job Facts is a set of 21, double-sided, A4 leaflets, available as a PDF. The set is aimed at below level 2 learners, and provides ideas and information about jobs in a broad range of different sectors. Each leaflet provides examples of jobs in the sector, typical day-to-day tasks and key skills. There is also a simple 'What do I do next' section, which young people can fill in when the leaflet is printed out.
This resource supports schools and colleges with meeting Gatsby Benchmarks 2 and 3.
Job Search - Hints and Tips
Job Search Hints and Tips is a set of 12, A4 leaflets, available as a PDF. The set provides information about all aspects of looking for job and apprenticeship vacancies and making applications. Some of the leaflets also include templates that can be filled in when printed out.
This set of Job Search Hints and Tips leaflets supports schools and colleges in meeting Gatsby Benchmarks 1, 2 and 3.
HE Ideas
HE Ideas are available as a PDF set of 22, full colour posters. Each poster covers a subject studied at level 3 and lists the higher education courses linked to studying that subject. They are aimed at young people in Year 11 who are deciding what to study at level 3, and those already on level 3 courses in sixth form or at college.
The HE Ideas poster set supports schools and colleges in meeting Gatsby Benchmarks 1, 2, 3 and 4.
Labour Market Information (LMI) posters
These Labour Market Information posters are a set of 10 full colour, single-sided sheets, available as a PDF. The set provides easily accessible information about a range of sectors of the economy. Each poster includes a brief introduction to the sector, details of key skills and qualities, gives examples of jobs and salaries at different levels and lists useful school/college subjects. Also included are simple statistics about how well the sector is doing, in terms of likely opportunities.
This resource supports schools and colleges with meeting Gatsby Benchmarks 1, 2 and 3.
West Yorkshire LMI poster set
This set contains 6 posters, one for each of Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees, Leeds and Wakefield, plus an overall West Yorkshire poster, and is available as a PDF. Each poster covers the top sectors (in terms of number of people employed in each) as well as apprenticeship, salary and qualification data and examples of local employers.

Digital career resource
MyDirections online careers platform
MyDirections is a personal online careers platform for young people, with specially tailored careers information and careers education activities.
The platform is designed for use by young people from Year 7 up to the age of 19, and includes articles and activities relevant to each stage of career planning. Every user has their own login and password, and completes a self assessment about their career ideas when they first log in. This then generates content on MyDirections based on their interests.
In addition to careers information, MyDirections includes a CV builder and a series of interactive career activities tailored to each year group. Whilst working through the different activities, learners answer reflective questions with their answers stored on the system, helping them to build their careers knowledge and develop their areas of interest.
There is also a World of Work section on MyDirections, which includes a range of work experience activities for students as well as employer profiles providing an insight into what it is like working for different companies and some of the roles available.
