Looking ahead to 2023 with Martin Green

As the year comes to an end, we are reflecting on another year delivering careers advice and employment support to thousands of people. We are proud to provide careers support for every age group, whether you are 12 or 65.

We speak to people about their early ambitions and plans for leaving school. We support people to change careers, retrain and get promotions. Our careers advisers help people looking to get back into work and advise on new learning and training opportunities.

The diversity of people we serve is one of our greatest assets. It enables us to better relate to people’s circumstances and offer practical support that is right for them. The goal is to help someone find their next opportunity and continue successfully on this pathway.

Our people

We are an organisation powered by people, providing services for people. Our team enables us to continue delivering at the high standard expected of us and this year the team has worked incredibly hard.

Our Managing Director, Martin Green, had this to say:

“2022 has come and gone bringing with it change, growth, joy and challenge. MyDirections

Our careers, information and guidance website, MyDirections, launched over a year ago and in this time, we have advertised over 180+ vacancies, with over 28,000 views on these vacancies.

We shared 250 information articles, with over 22,500 views on these. We promoted 180 careers events, with 45,000 event views.

We look forward to building on this success in 2023 and continuing to build the platform as a hub of up-to-date and engaging careers information.

Partnerships with businesses

We have built successful partnerships with a great many businesses this year, working with them to support their recruitment drives and to understand their skills gaps. We visited businesses to learn about their operations and how we can support their growth. Our team are ideally placed to connect businesses up with new employees and trainees.

Quality in Careers Award

C+K have been successfully relicensed as a Quality in Careers awarding body for another 3 years, following assessment by the Quality in Careers Consortium. We have worked with schools and colleges since 1999, recognising excellence in careers education through a quality award in careers.

The award supports continuous improvement and innovation within careers education. It is hugely valuable in raising the profile of careers education, supporting innovation and development, and celebrating and sharing good practices.
