Showcase and develop your careers programmes

The Standard showcases and supports the development of outstanding careers education, information, advice and guidance (CEIAG). The nationally recognised award is one of the highest accolades an organisation can receive for excellence in this area of work.

Full support to develop your careers provision

Our process is supportive and developmental. We help organisations to audit and develop their careers provision in order to have maximum impact, leading to positive career-related learning, behavioural and transition outcomes for young people.

A dedicated careers consultant will be on hand to provide bespoke support throughout the process. All our consultants are qualified practitioners with extensive experience and knowledge of the CEIAG sector, and a detailed knowledge and understanding of CEIAG at both a local and national level.

Investing in and holding the Quality in Careers Standard is evidence of a high standard of practice for parents and stakeholders, and provides excellent evidence for Ofsted.

"The report was extremely useful as evidence of good practice in our recent Ofsted inspection"

Deputy Head, 11-16 school

C+K also offer a Primary School Careers award and we are proud to be the first provider in the country to receive National Endorsement by the Quality in Careers Consortium.

What is the C+K Primary Award?

The purpose of the award is to recognise excellence in careers education and support continuous improvement and innovation. We have worked with primary schools since 2002 and research confirms that Key Stage 2 is the optimum time to begin teaching about careers.

"It has helped us to raise children's aspirations and academic performance by helping them understand the link between what they learn in school and the world of work"

Careers Leader, Primary School

Our framework provides a simple process for schools to align with 8 national endorsement criteria, with bespoke support from our consultants. We are currently working with more than 25 primary schools. Schools that have been through the process have seen a range of benefits, including:

• Raising aspirations among pupils
• Increased awareness of different job roles and options
• More pupils considering university
• Pupils’ development of key employability skills
• Improved academic performance
• Pupils’ increased ability to challenge stereotypes
• Establishing a whole school approach to careers
• Improving staff awareness and knowledge

We’re proud to have our award recognised first and feel optimistic about what this means for primary and middle school age children across the country. The more education professionals can work together to deliver high quality careers education, the better the outlook for the next generation.

"I felt really well supported by C+K throughout the process and would definitely recommend the C+K award to other primary schools"
