IAG for SEND, disadvantaged and vulnerable young people

While many other organisations have reduced their SEND provision, C+K has strengthened it, and is now acknowledged as having one of the best services in the UK. We have a team of specialist, experienced SEND careers advisers working in mainstream and special schools as well as Pupil Referral Units.

Some pupils require more dedicated careers support and we have an experienced SEND service to deliver this. Most support is provided by the in-school careers adviser but when specialist assistance is required they can access our dedicated SEND team.

We have vast experience working with vulnerable young people, students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities, looked after children and care leavers, and those are risk of dropping out of education and employment.

We deliver a range of services including individual 1 to 1’s, group interviews and contact with parents and carers. During these sessions we develop aspirations, discuss options, explore progression pathways, consult about work placements and support school/college transition.

For young people with an Education, Health and Care Plan or a Statement of Special Education Needs, leaving school for further education or training, we can write a 'needs assessment'. Our support can continue up to the young person's 25th birthday to ensure they maintain their place in education, employment or training.

For more information on how we can deliver personalised careers services in your school or college please contact Sarah Hodgson SEND Co-ordinator on 01484 242000 or email us using the details below.
