'Take Me On!' a great success

The opportunity for young people to meet employers and find out about training opportunities

Take me on 201516-19 year olds looking for a job, training, college course or apprenticeship came along to find out more

Take Me On! was a great success. It attracted lots of young people not in employment, education or training (NEET), especially from the older 18/19 cohort.   Jill Meade, Manager of Halifax Careers Centre said "Young people are looking to get a job or start training, even if they are not yet fully equipped to take up the jobs and apprenticeships which are available. It was therefore helpful to have a full range of opportunity providers to be able to match up needs".

Some young people's views:

"The staff were reallyfriendly".

"There was plenty of organisations".

"I got an interview".

Views from employers:

"Well organised, lots of young people".

"Very well organised."

"Great uptake of young people enquiring about the project."

Anyone who didn't make it to this special event, can still get help from careers advisers at Halifax Careers Centre.
