Apprenticeship Graduation Ceremony a great success

Graduation bannerThe Graduation Ceremony took place at Leeds Town Hall on November 10. It was organised by WYLP (West Yorkshire Learning Providers) with the help of colleagues from C&K Careers and the University of Huddersfield. WYLP was one of 19 apprenticeship organisations to successfully bid for a Governemnt grant to plan and host a regional ceremony.

The ceremony showcased the achievements of higher and advanced apprentices, many of whom's achievements are on a level with university graduates. Leeds Rhinos and Former Bradford Bulls star Jamie Peacock spoke at the event. Apprentices can continue their professional development via higher apprenticeships, which depending on the level, are equivalent to anything from a foundation degree to a bachelor degree and beyond.

The apprentices received their certificates in front of their parents, employers and other organisations. Feedback from stakeholders, employers, apprentices and their families was that the Ceremony was great success and another event is alredy being planned for next year.
